Solid-liquid sugar alcohols thermal storage
8
Technology Description
Heat is stored and released at constant temperature thanks to a change in the phase of a material from the solid state to the liquid state. Such systems would be used for temperatures between 90 and 200 °C.
Relevance for Net Zero
High densities lead to high heat of fusion per mass and high heat of fusion per volume; safe and non-toxic, but show some subcooling effect.
