Electric heating with thermochemical storage (high temperature heating)
4
Technology Description
Thermo-chemical heat storage relies on reversive exo/endotherm reactions to chemically store heat in a material. This technology uses this principle to generate high temperature heat when excess renewable electricity is available and store it in the reactant material. The high temperature heat can then be released whenever needed by industrial applications. This technology can also be applied for energy storage on the power grid.
